Andrea Mitchell
Andrea Mitchell, an American journalist and a commentator working as a commentator for NBC News in Washington D.C. She is also a television anchor. She received an Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania after growing as a child in New York City. Mitchell began her career as a radio and TV reporter in Philadelphia, KYW Radio and TV. 1976 Mitchell joined WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). In Washington, she was appointed general correspondent by NBC News two year later. Beginning in 1981, she began covering the White House and became chief congressional correspondent in 1988. Mitchell was promoted to the Chief White House correspondent in 1992. and chief foreign affairs Correspondent for NBC News. Mitchell was a panelist for the TV program Meet the Press and also hosted the program. She was on the panel during the 1988 presidential debates with George Bush and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell was awarded numerous honors for journalism excellence, including an award called the Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. Mitchell was also awarded with the Leonard Zeidenberg Award from the Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell was a reporter at the White House first for NBC News between 1981 and 1988 during Ronald Reagan's two terms as president. Mitchell reported on a variety of noteworthy stories, such as the Iran-Contra scandal, budget tax reforms and arms control. Mitchell traveled together with Reagan on numerous occasions to meet with Reagan many times to attend summits and discuss issues such as the Iran Contra controversy.
